Biography

Described as a Phenom by some of his peers, Millsap identifies himself as an architect of Phenoms rather than the latter. For almost two decades, the name Millsap has stood for hard work, dedication, and perseverance. His musical ingenuity was birthed at the age of twelve when he wrote his first song and recorded it on a four-track in his mother’s living room. Three years later, he was already performing at gigs as a keyboard player for artists such as; Deborah Cox, Shanice Wilson, Tyrese, Raphael Saadiq, and many more.

As a teenager, Walter W. Millsap signed a publishing deal with then EMI’s Jon Platt and a management contract with Jay Brown of Elektra Records, who later helped form Roc nation with renowned rapper Jay-Z. While in his early vicenarian years, Millsap partnered with multi platinum-record producer Timbaland to produce such artists as Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez; Millsap also went on to produce and co/write “Resentment” on the album B’Day from the female superstar Beyoncé. He also accumulated credits with LL Cool J, Mariah Carey (collaborating with the illustrious David Foster), and Brandy, among others.

Throughout his career, Walter W. Millsap has assumed the roles of A&R, executive producer, music director, arranger, composer, and producer, and has performed a myriad of other duties on several projects. His decorated playbook features multiple music directing works with global superstars; Toni Braxton, Lady Gaga, and countless others. This also includes his work with #1 teen sensation boy band, Mindless Behavior. Millsap has proven to be a talent magnet, and he has willfully mastered the business of music. His eye for talent began as a teenager when he developed and put together a boy band he concocted from dancers for Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. His band was later signed by Jheryl Busby to Dreamworks Records. This never stopped the ambitious Millsap. He swiftly discovered another talent – an eleven-year-old youngster and brought him to L.A. Reid and Jay-Z of Def Jam records. He was later signed to Def Jam records through Millsap’s production company, Conjunction entertainment.

His boy band, Mindless Behavior existed as a huge part of his efforts. The talented creator culled the band from an open audition and spent almost two years moulding and developing them through everything; from music to choreography and styling, until they were signed by Jimmy Lovine at Interscope records through Conjunction entertainment. Mindless Behavior’s first album reached #2 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop charts and their 2013 “All Around the World” debuted at #1 on the US R&B charts.

Currently, Walter W. Millsap is running a fully-fledged management company and manages artists, including; Angie Stone and many more. His power and legacy have been shaped by his desire to bring forth to the stage – the biggest and newest thing in music. Millsap’s agility is purely unmatched and unrivaled.
